The 2 Days Rwanda Safari, takes you to Nyungwe to trek chimpanzees, visit museums along the way. The 2 Days chimpanzee safari also gives you an opportunity to walk along the canopy trail for a better view of the forest canopy.
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali.
At 7am, the guide picks you up from you hotel in Kigali. We assume you will have had an early breakfast, and thus you will drive directly to transfer to the king’s Palace. Learn more about the cultures, and traditional history of Rwanda. You will then drive to proceed to Huye to visit the ethnographic museum, arrive Nyungwe in time for lunch. Have lunch and then drive to transfer to the park headquarters for an afternoon guided canopy walk. Overnight at your preferred Lodges.
Basic- Gisakura Guest House
Moderate- Nyungwe Top hill view lodge.
Luxury – Nyungwe safari lodge.
Day 2: chimpanzee safari / transfer back to Kigali.
Very early in the morning at 6:30am, you will depart your hotel, to transfers to the starting point. The actual trek in the forest starts at 5am. Through the forest you will start the search for the chimpanzees. Once you meet them you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following them and then later return to the starting point. Meeting and seeing the chimpanzees, in Nyungwe forest National park is not Guaranteed, and thus the reason as to why you start the trek early to increase your chances of viewing them. After the trek, you will drive to transfer back to Kigali, arriving in the afternoon. End of the 2 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trek Safari.
